Why I'm Running
I am running for Congress because I believe working class families deserve a voice. As the son of immigrants, raised in Jersey City by parents who owned a small business, I learned the value of hard work, faith, family, and community. My Greek heritage, Pontian roots, and commitment to public service shaped who I am. As a teacher and union representative, I have seen the challenges families face every day—from underfunded classrooms and rising costs to barriers facing children with special needs.
Washington doesn't need more career politicians. It needs people who understand the struggles of everyday families and are ready to fight for practical solutions that improve lives.
Faith. Family. Doing the right thing.
A New Generation of Leadership for NJ-08.
I was born and raised in Jersey City, where my parents worked tirelessly as local small business owners to build a better life for our family. As the son of immigrants, I grew up watching their sacrifices, determination, and commitment to serving our community. Those lessons shaped my understanding of hard work, responsibility, and the importance of giving back.
"I'm running for Congress because our community deserves a representative who actually shows up, listens, and delivers — not one who plays politics while families struggle."
I was fortunate to be raised in a vibrant downtown neighborhood community that felt like an extended family. Through local traditions and lifelong friendships, I learned the value of service, respect for others, and pride in where I come from. My Greek heritage especially instilled in me a deep appreciation for resilience, perseverance, and the importance of preserving our history and identity for future generations in our society.
Just as important was my upbringing in the Greek Orthodox Church, where regular attendance and involvement in parish life helped shape my character and values. The faith, compassion, and sense of community I experienced there continue to guide me today as a husband, father, educator, union representative, and community advocate. The lessons I learned from my family, my faith, and my heritage remain at the heart of who I am and why I am committed to serving others — and most importantly, doing the right thing.
As a teacher, I have seen firsthand where our education system succeeds and where it fails.
Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Families are struggling with rising costs.
Hudson County families deserve a chance to stay in the communities they helped build.
America grows when working families succeed.
As the son of local business owners, I understand the sacrifices entrepreneurs make.
Every family deserves to feel safe.
Healthcare should be affordable and accessible.
America is a nation of laws and a nation of immigrants.
Strong communities are built on strong families.
Our veterans have earned more than our gratitude.
America must remain strong, respected, and principled.
